Katar Supports City for Extending Transitional PSBB Period

People Coalition of New Jakarta Observers (Katar) supports Jakarta Government for extending transitional large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) period until the next 14 days.

Monitoring is very important and people should be more accustomed to carry out health protocols

Katar Chairman, Sugiyanto Emik conveyed, transitional PSBB period is extended after being evaluated in the meeting with Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda).

"Surely it is the right decision because through studies and inputs from various parties. We support governor's decision," he mentioned, Thursday (7/1).

City to Tighten Health Protocols Implementation in Market and KRL

During the extension period of transitional PSBB, his side expected city to tighten monitoring on health protocols implementation in several locations with high risk of COVID-19 transmission such as markets and public transports.

"Monitoring is very important and people should be more accustomed to carry out health protocols. When they are accustomed with it, although no officers, they will carry it out to protect themselves and the others from COVID-19," he stated.

He assessed, Jakarta Government's decision to impose sanctions on health protocols violators was in accordance with transitional PSBB regulations.

"Both fines and social sanctions are imposed to discipline the citizens thus they can comply with health protocols. It requires cooperation from all parties to overcome COVID-19 in Jakarta," he asserted.
